AFRICA AT THE OLYMPICS (PART 2)
Posted On 08/28/2008 17:22:07 by sandrine
With the 2008 Beijing Olympics now over, it is time to look at how our beloved African countries did!
Altogether Africa won 40 medals with Kenya carrying the highest number of medals…It took home 14 medals and other countries that took home medals were Ethiopia which won 7 medals; followed by Zimbabwe and Nigeria which won 4 medals; followed by Algeria and Morocco which both won 2 medals each and finally followed by Tunisia, Cameroon, Sudan, Egypt, Mauritius, Togo and South Africa which all won a medal each.
I would like to congragulate all the Africans who took part in this world-wide sporting event and I personally believe that they did well and I am proud of all the participants that were in Beijing.
With this years Olympics over, I look forward to seeing my fellow Africans doing much much better in 4 years at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Africa…Keep Up The Good Work!
