AFRICA AT THE OLYMPICS
Posted On 08/12/2008 00:40:06 by sandrine
The Africans have shown a very good start at the Beijing Olympics so far with Algerian Soraya Haddad winning a bronze medal for the women’s judo game. Kirsty Coventry also grabbed a silver medal for Zimbabwe at the women’s 400 metres individual medley and there she displayed tremendous talent after being the first person to win a medal for the continent and also to win a medal of any colour on the third day of the Olympics. In addition to the women taking hold of the medals for Africa, the men also did their continent proud by Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon beating their opponent teams at the one and only sport…football.  Nigeria beat Japan 2-1 while Cote d’Ivoire leathered Serbia 4-2 and Cameroon played Honduras who they also beat.

With such a brilliant start for the continent we await to see the other medals that our fellow Africans are gonna bring home!
